Getting Started - More Information

The first step

I offer (and encourage) a free initial phone conversation (about 20 minutes) to help you determine if working with me is a good fit. We can set up this call by phone or e-mail and discuss any questions you have at that time. In my experience, while we can have a good sense on the phone whether or not my expertise and your needs are a good match, it can take 3-4 sessions for us to know if working together will feel like a good fit. Please talk to me in these early sessions about what’s working and what’s not!

Location

I’ve moved! After 3 years in Berkeley on Telegraph, I moved (a few blocks away) across the border into Oakland. You can now find me at :

6361 Hillegass Ave, Oakland, CA 94618

home visits

I know leaving the house with one or more children in tow can be difficult. If meeting in your home for dyadic therapy makes more sense, I am available for home visits. We can discuss if this option would work well for you.

Psychotherapy and Parent Consultation Fees

My fees for psychotherapy and parent consultation services are comparable to those of other psychotherapists and consultants working in the Bay Area. In-office psychotherapy appointments are typically 50 minutes and in-home dyadic therapy sessions are 60 minutes.

My rates are $210 for a 50-minute session in-office or online and $350 for an in-home 60-minute session.

Many clients choose to meet weekly or every other week for therapy, and we can discuss frequency when we have a better sense of what our work together will entail. I encourage you to consider starting out weekly as it gives us a chance to get to know each other better.

Consultation and Training Costs

For more information on consultation and training costs, please contact me. The frequency and timing of consultation meetings will be determined based on the needs of the consultee(s).

Insurance

I do not currently accept insurance. For many psychotherapy services, you may be eligible for reimbursement from your insurance company. To be reimbursed by insurance, I am required to provide an additional invoice (or superbill), which must include a diagnosis. We can discuss the implications of a diagnosis together when we meet.

Consultation services are usually not eligible for insurance reimbursement.
