About Me

Finding the right fit in a therapist or consultant is a crucial part of getting started. Here’s a little information you might want to know about me.

I have been working with children and their parents/caregivers for about fifteen years in a variety of settings, using different techniques, and observing diverse needs in children and adults. I am always honored when clients share their stories with me and am grateful to be included in their process of learning more about themselves and their families. As a mother of twins, I am often humbled by how overwhelming the journey of parenthood and caregiving can be — in both positive and challenging ways. And watching my own two children grow and change, I am also reminded how unique each child is and how important it is for all of us to be treated as individuals - there is no one-size-fits-all approach to life, to parenting, or to therapy. That’s why my approach as a therapist and consultant is based in collaboration with my clients to understand the specifics of each situation as we work together to address needs and celebrate strengths and successes.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW #65985) and I have formal training in Infant-Parent and Child-Parent Psychotherapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Circle of Security. I use parts of each of these perspectives in my work. I am certified as a Perinatal Mental Health Professional (PMH-C) by Postpartum Support International and endorsed as an Infant-Family Early Childhood Mental Health Specialist, Reflective Practice Facilitator II through the California Center for Infant-Family and Early Childhood Mental Health.

Additional info about my professional background: I received my MS in social work from Columbia University with a clinical focus on health and mental health and completing internships in foster care and hospital settings supporting children with a range of mental illness and developmental differences. During this time I also volunteered with Music for Autism, an organization very dear to me. In 2011, I began working for the Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation Program at Jewish Family and Children's Services as a consultant providing mental health consultation to early care and education programs and the families enrolled in them in San Mateo County. I became Director of the ECMHC Program at StarVista in 2014, overseeing the operations of the entire program, which consults to over 45 early care programs in San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties reaching hundreds of ECE staff and thousands of children enrolled in their programs. As Director, I built relationships with community partners, and supported them in strengthening their thinking around issues related to infant and early childhood development, mental health, inclusion, and reflective practice. In this role, I also provided clinical supervision to AMFTs and ASWs on their path towards licensure.
