I take a collaborative approach in all my work — and I hope that you will feel that in our first meeting and throughout our work together. I want to create a safe and inviting space where you bring your knowledge and expertise around your history, your strengths, and your needs and I bring my experience and observations and together we can explore opportunities for change and reflect on what’s already working and what could be working better.

My approach stems from a wish to better understand relationships and the way that the patterns we have developed in relationships over the course of our lives impact how we connect or miss connections with others. I mean relationships in a very broad sense — relationships between people or relationships with self, work, or other systems. An underlying component of this approach is the belief that all behavior has meaning. Based on our lived experiences and the patterns we’ve developed in relationships, we may come to interpret certain behaviors in ways that either make forming and maintaining relationships easier or more difficult — and sometimes both! Working together we can look at new ways to make sense of the behaviors that challenge us.

I am trained in a variety of evidence-based and other approaches including infant- and child-parent psychotherapy and cognitive behavioral therapy. My most extensive training is in early childhood mental health consultation and reflective practice — and I use components of these practices in my work daily — whether as a therapist, consultant, trainer, or advocate. I draw on many aspects of these models in my work, depending on the specific needs of a client, whether an individual, family, or childcare program. I’m happy to speak more with you about how I work and discuss if this collaborative, non-directive approach is right for you.

all are welcome

Diversity surrounds us in ways we see and in ways we don’t. I feel fortunate to have worked with clients from many backgrounds, each bringing their own unique culture. I encourage conversations about the multiple dimensions of identity and I look forward to meeting you and learning more about your individual experience including what you are currently living/have lived already, where you come from, and who you are/are becoming.
